Summer News Intern, 560 WGAN

WGAN, southern Maine’s heralded legacy voice for news and talk, is seeking an intern for our News Department this Spring/Summer 2023.  Applicants should presently be enrolled in an accredited college broadcasting or journalism discipline and eligible to receive course credit for their work.

Primary duties will include gathering, writing and producing spot news stories for on-air and social media content with the possibility of contributing in other areas of our eight-station cluster.  Hours are primarily weekdays with the possibility of some evening or weekend assignments.

Familiarity with audio editing software such as ProTools and Audacity, as well as strong written and oral communication skills, is helpful. Photoshop skills are a plus as well. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are important as you will be driving to breaking news locations in southern Maine.
